Is 8 by 12 inches a popular size in America?

I don't think of it as being as popular as 8x10. But it is of course after all the aspect ratio of a 35mm frame. I still frequently forget to think about that when framing a shot and am sometimes left with tough cropping choices. I do see 8x12 frames regularly at the local Aaron Bros. frame-it-yourself outfit, but only see 8x10 and more commonly 8.5x11 paper at the well-stocked photography shop I buy paper at. I'm not crazy about 8x10 OR 8x12 personally, and tend to prefer something closer to a 1:1.4 aspect ratio. Wish there was a U.S. standard like that in larger than 5x7.
