I've got two 550EX flash units that I would like to use as backlights or hairlights in conjunction with my two Alien Bees. So, I bought two Wein Peanut Optical Slaves along with a hot shoe adapter with PC connector. I assumed that all I had to do is plug the Peanut into the hot shoe adapter and when one flash fires the Wein optical slave will fire the connected flash. It doesn't. What am I missing? I'm sure it's obvious but I don't know.
