I'm something of a macro lens nut. I have the Series 1 90mm f/2.5, the Tamron (MF) SP 90mm f/2.5, the Tamron AF SP 90mm f/2.8, and the Series 1 90-180mm f/4.5. I keep getting told I should get the Kiron 105/2.8, or its Series 1 equivalent. But it's hard for me to rationalize, given the macros I already have. Is the 105/2.8 really that much better than say the S1 90/2.5? IOW, would I see a real difference? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Ken, Compare to all but the Vivitar you would see a difference. Compared to the Vivitar only a slight difference at best. However, the lens is more convenient since it is one unit and goes 1:1. Plus its 105 v. 90mm so you gain a little more working distance. Sometimes these come up on eBay, and if the price it right you may want to pick one up and see for yourself.
