Hi all,
Hoping you can help with a malfunctioning camera problem I have. My EOS 3 suddenly stopped working this last weekend. It turns on fine, I can change shutter speed and aperture and such with no problem. It will focus and if I have my 70-200mm on the IS will work.
When I hit the shutter button to take a photo the mirror will slap up and I get a "bc" message on the LCD. It will stick that way for a random amount of time and then the mirror will return and the camera operates normally until I try to take another photo. So, here are the conditions and some of the things I tried:
Battery...full charge 4 different lenses...all Canon, problem happens with all lenses Single shot mode Timer is off
Experiments to fix the problem...and result: New battery...."bc" Removed the lens and fired a shot without a lens on..."bc" changed shooting modes..."bc" cleaned contacts..."bc" removed battery for a couple minutes and then replaced it..."bc"
Has anyone else had this problem before? How did you fix it? Did you have to send it in to a repair facility? Is there something else I can try?
Thanks for any help, Rick
