This only allows the camera to *try* and AF, it's extremely unlikely it will
AF at f/11 no matter what the circumstances, because there just isn't enough
light reaching the sensor.

I for one don't think the results from a 75-300 are very good to start with,
and they would definitely be much poorer with a 2x TC, but if the original
poster would like a sample, please contact me off list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and I'll take a couple of shots with that setup on
my 10D and email them.
