Hi Simon, Except for the backlighting, and minor changes in appearance, the EOS 30 and EOS 30V appear to be functionally equivalent. If you are concerned, check the Canon EOS 33 manual (English) linked at eosdoc. Did you know that Canon USA advertised current instruction manuals for only $USD 1 (plus shipping)?
