My previous two AF EOS bodies were A2E and -3, didn't use the ECF feature on both of them after the initial novalty worn off, I wished I had just bought the plain A2 and wished I didn't have to pay for the ECF on the EOS 3. This is more likely due to personal style than anything else, I'm sure some people just love ECF, but it's not a necessity for me. In fact, a few times I find myself cursing after realizing AF didn't work properly because the ECF switch had been bumped into either the "on" or calibrating position, invariably I lost the shot as a result.
