The 7 (and 7n) have been advertised as being as fast as the 1v, at least under some specific circumstances. The 10d should have the same focusing system as the 7, and the 20d is clearly newer and better then the 10d. So, the 20d *should* focus faster then the 7, which would make it as fast or faster then the 3.
I'd love to know what "specific circumstances" the 7 is advertised as being as fast as the 1V. I owned a 7 for some time and it was never even CLOSE to as fast as my 3, which is supposed to be slightly slower than a 1. And I'm not talking a little bit slower ... ALOT slower. It was a good camera but nowhere near in the same class as a 3.
