Oh, don't even get me started on that!  Probably half my shots taken from a tripod are 
with IS on.  IS is just too quiet on the 100-400!  (Canon employee lurkers - please 
don't take that as a complaint!!!)  Fortunately, I seldom switch to the pan mode so at 
least that switch is usually safe.  That's why I'd like to see the extra focusing 
points - to ease up on my task load!
