Picked up my body this afternoon (didn't have to buy the kit version!), and
after an hour of playing with it:

I got mine yesterday. My first step into digital. The 20D will replace my EOS 3.

* AF is MUCH better in low light than the 10D, not enough time to really
have a feel for speed yet

I've heard about the AF on the 10D but never tried it. I can say, though, that I can't
complain about the AF speed on the 20D. So far I've only tried with the
28-105/3.5-4.5 and the 17-40/4L.

* The finger grip is 1/3 to 1/2 cm deeper fron to back, better for longer
fingers.

[...]

* much more squarish design elements, 20D to 10D is much like EOS 3 to Eos 1
series.

I'm not going to complain about the 20D, but there is a few places it falls short of my
EOS 3. This is to be expected:

I have to say that the EOS 3 definitely feels better in my hands. The EOS 3 has a thicker
grip, the contours more pronounced, such as the indentation for the palm and middle finger.
Since the grip is smaller, the tip of my fingers collide with the body a little too "early" meaning
that I get less of a grip. I feel I have a better hold of the EOS 3 than of the 20D, but the 20D
do compensate with its more sticky rubber.

Also, the EOS 3 gives me more confidence in its build quality. It feels a lot more solid than
the 20D.

The view finder definitely cannot be any smaller than this. I wish it was bigger.

I prefer the lens stop-down button where it's placed on the EOS 3 as opposed to the 20D.
On the EOS 3 it's on the right side of the lens (when looking through the viewfinder) which
means I can easily press with my fingers while holding the lens. On the 20D it's on
the left side of the lens and I find it less accessible. It's minor since I don't use it that much,
but still.

The command wheel feels a little cheap. It felt better on the Rebel 2000.

The body is not as tall as the EOS 3 and just a tad too short I think. I can barely keep
all my fingers on the grip.

I do like the dioptric adjustment, though. The EOS 3 lacks this.

Nevertheless; I think it's going to be a great camera for me. Now lets hope Really Right Stuff
makes an L-bracket for this thing ASAP.
