Dear All,
I am somewhat astonished that the new 1Ds Mk2 has not been mentioned on this
list at all... or did I miss it? In any case, does anybody own or has tested
the new camera and if so what do you think about it? Not that I could afford
it but I am just curious.

I had the first contact with this camera in the Photokina last November where I could use it few minutes. In Bilbao the camera was officially presented to professionals and I could again shoot some pictures and, finally, in a photographic fair in Madrid, I was lent another camera with a 70-200 L IS for more than a hour. Excepting the back LCD that has more resolution and some more back buttons the camera exterior is identical to MkI. But inside there are important differences. First and more obvious almost 50% more resolution of the sensor that now is "exactly" 24x36mm. A bigger buffer that, adding a new and improved Digic processor, allows 4 fps, and, for me the most important, the microlenses have not any more a gap between and are swapping each other what prevent the most important problem of this camera -with the "ability" of getting dust of the sensor- the chromatic aberration that happens, not always ant in the same degree, when using extreme wides. Besides a orientation sensor and the ability of using SD additional cards.
I'm a truly satisfied MkI user that, in few occasions, had problems when shooting with the 14mm and the 16-35mm and I'm on the way of ordering a new MkII. Any one in the list do wish a MkI at a good price?
