Low light? Use flash or a tripod. Handholding wide open often produces
less than optimum results. If you're shooting inside you need more DOF
anyway than f1.8 can provide.

Oh, I really don't agree with this at all... A flash kills the mood in low light situation and it's a no-go... f/1.4 or f/1.8 with ISO 800 on a candel lit scene, you can't do this with a tripod of a flash!!!
