With the 10d and D30/D60, I would have it at RAW per default for best image quality, but would have to switch to Small Fine when high quality is not needed and faster processing is required e.g. (ebay photographs and indoor panoramas).
I set my new 20d to RAW + Small Fine. This seems to be the best compromise for convenience of looking at JPG, having quality of RAW when needed and effiency of flash card capacity usage. I plan on leaving it at that setting. Lars -- .~.
