Purely speculating since I haven't played with either
a 1ds or 5d, I'd say that in addition to faster
processing and FPS speed as well as boot up time, the
newer camera would probably also have
More advanved image processing algorithms
Better lattitude
less noise
more "on the money" auto white balance
reduced colour fringing artefacts
reduced moire effects
If I'm right, it should make for better pics overall.
