In the mean time I found out that's a 2 GB Lexar card, the camera is
a Canon 1Ds and 178 photos are bad. When he took the pictures he
could see them on the LCD, now that will no longer work.

I've a friend who took some photos and now he can't open them.
When dragged on to Graphic Converter there's a message that the
datafork is damaged. Is there a way to repair.
It's a Tiff file. The icon seems to be OK, but it will not open
in PS, GC or iView MediaPro. He works on a Mac OS X.
