Capacitors generally aren't filled with liquid, but I don't know if Canon
uses any special high density capacitors to power the flash tube that may
use liquid chemicals for cooling or insulation.

The only other possibility would be the LCD panel leaking from the edges
where the seal is.

Either way there is likely little that you can do other than get an
estimate from Canon or authorized service centers, then decide if it's
worthwhile fixing.
