I have been using my relatively new 180mm macro lens on the 5D
camera. I'm having exposure variation problems when using evaluative
metering. I have two shots, one after the other, with no changes to the
camera. I used mirror lockup. In both cases the auto-focus point
was exactly the same. The only thing I can think is that I did not
cover the eye piece. I'm wondering if this is the problem or if it is
something else.

As far as I know, nothing was changed between these shots and
I can only imagine the eye piece not covered is the issue. I'm relatively
new to the Canon camp, so am wondering if I am correct in assuming
the uncovered eye piece is the problem?
