Are you referring to the blue (for IR) anti-alias filter? I'm not sure
if that is directionally sensitive, but the sensor itself has some.
The anti-alias filter locally blurs the light to a few pixels. It may also
blur more to off angle light, but not sure about reducing light.
Did you have the eyepiece covered?

I'm very interested. As I was considering one. A shifted perspective
in camera will still be better than a PS corrected one. But I have
concern on digital sensor issues at FF. Any experience you can
report I would be interested in hearing.

Digital has passed film (I have an LS-4000) now. And I have been
re-thinking my technique for the higher resolution (no longer 50mm
at 1/60 speed sort of rules).

Camera diarrhea does not necessarily make for good pictures.
