I wonder if the 1D has same lenses over the CCD??
you've made me rethink my test (quick n dirty out on the balcony), I'll
do a more careful test, and post images onto my website ... when I'm
not doing my thesis or out skiing or out in the Finnish scenery in
general
BTW, one poster asked if I covered the eye piece, AFAIK this only has any
purpose when relying on the camera metering (such as putting the camera
in Av and standing beside the camera watching the scene using a remote
release), which I did not do, I put the camera in manual and relied on
my pentax spotmeter for a reading and then set the camera F and shutter
meself.
Did you then account for the normal light falloff of the shift lens?
Also, did you try at different F-stops? If you find the problem
is worse at higher F-stops, then I would suspect the micro lenses
on the sensor may be playing a greater roll, but I'm not sure.

I've used the 24TSE with the 20D and the 5D, and found no exposure
issues at all. Works just like with film (which it should), TTL
metering with the lens centered. Of course, on the 20D it has the
angle of view of a 38mm lens on FF, which isn't that useful any more
for architectural shots.
