I don't want this to sound pedantic, but my undersranding is that it isn't
possible to print or even view a RAW file.
The RAW file has no gamma adjustment, curve or colour interpolation applied.
Plus it is 12 bit.
When "viewing" a RAW file, one is actually looking at a ciff, tiff or jpeg
created either by the camera firmware or the computer software. In doing so,
in addition to the aforementioned adjustments, all user set parameters are
also applied, e.g contrast, saturation, sharpness, etc.
So the programs that will allow one to print RAW, e.g DPP, BreezeBrowser,
aren't actually printing THE RAW but an 8 bit conversion thereof.
Maybe I'm stating the obvious and if I've misunderstood I would welcome
correction.
