Subject: EOS How to use IS with 100-400 L?
I am testing out the 100-400 L with a rental lens to see if it will
work for me for shooting hockey games. I am thinking that even with
the IS, the smaller aperture may make it impractical, but I am keeping
an open mind.
Anyway, the lens arrived today, but there was no manual, and I have no
prior experience with IS. I played around with it and think I figured
it out (also based on what I've read here in the past) - I is on and O
is off, mode 1 is hand-held and mode 2 is tripod, right? Anything
else I need to know?
FWIW, I was very impressed with how well the IS worked at shooting
some objects in low light while hand-holding the camera.
Thanks!
Pattie
Well, IS mode 1 is normal, mode 2 is panning. Turn it off for use on a
tripod. Other than that, you're ok.
