Howdy, all -

I finally purchased a used Canon 100-400 L lens from a private dealer.
The price was good, and I was worried about the quality of the glass,
but the shots I took from the one time I used it looked fine.

However, the push-pull zoom is really stiff, especially at the long
end, which is where I'd planned I'd mostly be using it. I have played
with the friction ring, but the zoom is still very stiff, especially
from 300-350 mm, and so stiff from 350-400 it takes both hands to
slide it-- not too practical for shooting sports!

I can send the lens back, but I thought I'd see if any of you all had
any ideas how to make the zoom slide a bit easier before I do.

Thanks,

Pattie
