Maybe I just need to wrap some duct tape around my lenses
and not take a shower for several days. I'm open to suggestions :-)

Actually, that's not such a bad idea - I've heard of Nat Geo
photographers who cover their cameras in masking tape and such so that
they look old and worthless (handy when wandering around slums with a
pricey rangefinder).
