Probably one of the main reasons I don't use such a lens.
I hate attention like that. Very distracting and my personal style is
to be unobtrusive (and unnoticed). Although just using the 70-200/2.8
is enough to draw attention. The worst happened when I was shooting
and this other photographer felt the need to come up and talk to
me about photography, and not wanting to be overly impolite I
talked, but still I lost a bunch of potential shots because I could not
focus on what I was doing. I need a stealth camera that is really
a big lens on a big camera, but when people look at me it appears
that I have a little Casio or cell phone sized camera. Do they make
such stealth technology? I guess the alternative is to just be an
asshole and people will leave me alone, but that is not my style
either. Maybe I just need to wrap some duct tape around my lenses
and not take a shower for several days. I'm open to suggestions :-)
