My Nikon coolpix 950 could take about three pictures on alkaline AAs. Maybe 4. With the lithium AAs, it could shoot about 300 with flash and 100% LCD use. The NiMH would take about 300 their first charge, but then be so toasted that they never worked right again.
I carry the AA caddy for my 5D and 20D all the time, and a full load of lithium AAs for it.
