I wanted an AC power supply for it, but I balked at the high price of the Nikon power supply. It seemed to use a standard plug, so I thought it would be a simple matter of finding one that would work. When I looked up the specs of the power supply I saw that it was rated for 2.5 amps. The severe battery failures make perfect sense if the camera draws that much power.
