Did it fix the flickering?

The dynamic near/far version doesn't show the problem.

So it is the depth buffer resolution.

(the attached screenshot is revison 770 _without_ dynamic n/f but with 24
bit db)

Yep, that is Z-Fighting. I've just added a debug print (rev 772) to get
the actual visualID used. For me that is:

  src/lib/client/window.cpp:514 545 Using visual 0x3e

  eile% glxinfo
visual x bf lv rg d st colorbuffer ax dp st accumbuffer ms cav
   id dep cl sp sz l ci b ro r g b a bf th cl r g b a ns b eat
---------------------------------------------------------------------- 0x3e 24 tc 1 24 0 r y . 8 8 8 0 2 24 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 None

Can you verify that you get a 24 bit Z-Buffer? The attribute
is definitely used - I get an error when requesting a 64 bit
Z-Buffer. ;)

FYI: I've just increased the maximum message size to 100KB on the list.

Cheers,

Stefan.
