Hi Joe!
My Garmin GPS 3 Pilot was under 8 feet of water
For four days. When I got it back, I opened the battery
compartment & the there was a lot of rust & crap inside.
I took it home & dried it off then took out the screws. There
wasn't a drop inside. I cleaned the case, & put it back together.
Then I put in a new set of batteries & tried it. It worked like
new. Didn't even loose the data base. If I ever buy another GPS
it will be a Garmin!!!

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Lowrance Airmap 500 GPS. It seems like it may be a good all around basic GPS for both flying and boating at a very reasonable price. I looked at the Garmin but it was more expensive and the screen was smaller. Any input would be appreciated. Joe M
