Our first Washington $100.00 hamburger fly-in of the year was
a big BUST. :-(

Andy made if off from Arlington like a champ.

Marty's airplane broke.

Ron & I were preflighted and ready to go but the fog
moved back in and we were stuck.

While I was waiting for the fog to completely burn off
I could see lots of blue sky around the airport and it looked like
things might be OK. Then Slim the airport owner who was warming
up his Cessna 150 motioned for me to get in and we did a couple
of circuits. Solid fog except right at the airport proper. It looked like
some
one had taken a sharp knife and cut a space out of the fog right around
the
airport.

Well prudence dictated that VFR on top wasn't really very wise, and on top
of that the fog was starting to roll back over the field.

Ron at least got some of the bird crap washed off his plane, and got to
taxi
it to the gas pump. I got a ride in a 150, Marty got a broken plane, and
Andy
got to fly to the coast and have a nice hamberger.

Bah humbug

Cheers:
