Egads!!!!! When I got my Coupe 24 years ago, it was OLD news that ALL steering balls NEED TO BE REPLACED!!!! Unless y'all KNOW you have the bolt connection, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you check your plane on the NEXT trip to the airport. There should be NO Coupes MOVING with the old ball-style connector! The pilot stopped in a fairly short distance and didn't hit anything in the process. We all rushed out to see what was wrong, and found that the little steering ball had snapped off right in the top of the threaded area. He replaced the ball with the Heim bearing right after that, and so did I. This is SK-57, for about $75.00, and is well worth it.
