Hi All I looked through my Aircoupe photos from yesteryear and found this one of the Forney F1A which we flew in the early 1960's in a club where I was the CFI (gosh, is it over 40 years ago?). This shows a good view of the split elevator. It is one of many photos I have on disc and (advertising bit here) I will send you my disc if you let me know your address in a letter which contains $6 no checks please I can't cash them over here. Look through your photos, I bet there are not too many taken from above like this one, it was actually taken from the control tower of the airfield.
