Chris. We had similar discussions before. Here is my list of important additions to ERcoupe Designs. 1. Noise insulation. 2. Better seats. (no Cessna seats don't cut it, nor bucket seats) 3. Wider cabin 4. Noise insulation 5. Functioning heater/vents 6. enclosed header tank small enough to give room for instruments 7. Noise insulation. Here my Comments to your list: 1. As far the Vne set to 144 MPH on , I have no objections. This is limited by the shape of the wings & airframe anyway I guess. 2. More instrumentation is up to everyone's taste and does not always translate into safer flying. Otherwise we should not have any commercial aircraft being involved in deadly accidents. 3. Constant speed prop & retractable gear make me have a special rating , or at least checkout . It removes the simplicity from flying a coupe. 4. More powerful engine will eat more gas, which will require bigger tanks , which makes the Coupe heavier, which will require a more powerful engine etc. 5. see 3.
