Don.
Who painted the prop? If it was done in a prop-shop, they might have re-pitched the propeller as well.

I have a Sensenich M76AK-2 prop on my 415-G. I recently had the prop painted. It seems to have lost some power in the process. Rolling down the runway I get about 2050 RPM. I really never noticed what it gave me before. Is 2050 right or should I be getting more? In cruise it will develop 2500 RPM.

Harry this magazine you speak of, "pretty good monthly magazine, listing advertisements, and a parts and plane sale", how do I sign up? I have been looking for some time for a Ercoupe (415-C 1946).

Thanks,

P.S.

Could we do more....well, of course, YES...But it takes everyone's participation.....and as Jerry points out we are not a very big organization....thus more participation is needed.

We do have a pretty good monthly magazine, listing advertisements, and a parts and plane sale section.....and great stories and maintenance help....

BUT,

WE Still NEED YOUR (everyone's) Help !

We can't even get posts like this to the correct group, why should we be able to put on seminars, parts locating, and so on?

Actually, we do fairly well. We Coupers do have a monthly newsletter, two online forums, a national and regional events and annual convention. Not bad for pilots who won't use the rudder pedals ;-)

The following appeared in AvWeb Flash today. If Cessna Flyer Association can
do it, why can't a "Coupe Group"?

Attention, Cessna Owners and Pilots!
The Cessna Flyer Association (CFA) provides parts locating, tech support, a
monthly member magazine, online forums, national and regional events, an
annual convention, seminars, and more. With a one-year membership for $39,
access the needed information to expand your knowledge and get more
enjoyment from owning and flying your Cessna aircraft. The CFA is located on
the Waupaca Municipal Airport in Wisconsin, just 35 NW of Oshkosh. <

deleted as the goods move). It would seem that it should be folded

How about a Coupe made of Molded wood Veneer? I understand there was
a stress analysis done when aluminum materials were getting scarce. Possibly
a couple were even built . Anyone know anything about this?

I know it's not a parts depot or exchange, but my personal jury is out on
that because someone will be unscrupulous enough to try to make a buck on
their neighbor's generosity. Heck, it happening now!

Some of those are funny and for the common ones, it's good to be able to
look them up and recognize them.

But mostly, they're for the illiterate among us (those who can't type more
than 50 words per minute).

There aren't many of those acronyms that I couldn't type out fully, faster
than I can pause and think up the stupid acronym, hit the caps lock key,
type a few cryptic characters and hit caps lock off.

I've been telling people for 30 years, you're not fully literate unless you
can both read and type. (I guess hand writing is still mandatory, too.)

Bob,

The "magazine" to which he referred is the Coupe Capers, the monthly
newsletter of the Ercoupe Owners Club.

If you're not a member, you can join using this information:
http://ercoupe.org/SubscriptionForm.htm

Once you are a member, you can also get into the members-only section on
http://ercoupe.org and look at the ads in the back issues.

In the past, the previous issues were a good hunting ground for planes that
hadn't sold when they were first advertised, often because of too high an
initial asking price. Now, unfortunately, there is enough demand for Sport
Pilot eligible 415-C and CD models, they are selling at elevated prices.

Watch the mail lists which sometimes have first publication of a Coupe for
sale. You might also check out the For Sale sections on
http://ercoupers.com which sometimes has planes listed.

Even better sources of advertised planes are your big regional newspaper,
Trade-A-Plane and http://barnstormers.com

OK, by popular demand, I'll add some more info on the "giant sausage" plus a photo of it's "tiny " interior. Don

Unlike its dirigible ancestors, the Aeroscraft is not lighter than air. Its 14 million cubic feet of helium hoist only two thirds of the craft's weight. The rigid and surprisingly aerodynamic body-driven by huge rearward propellers-generates enough additional lift to keep the behemoth and its 400-ton payload aloft while cruising. During takeoff and landing, six turbofan jet engines push the ship up or ease its descent.

?This two-football-fields-long concept airship is the brainchild of Igor Pasternak, whose privately-funded California firm, Worldwide Aeros Corporation, is in the early stages of developing a prototype and expects to have one completed by 2010. Pasternak says several cruise ship companies have expressed interest in t he project, and for good reason: The craft would have a range of several thousand miles and, with an estimated top speed of 174 mph, could traverse the continental U.S. in about 18 hours. During the flight, passengers would peer at national landmarks just 8,000 feet below or, if they weren't captivated by the view, the cavernous interior would easily accommodate such amenities as luxury staterooms, restaurants, even a casino.

?
To minimize noise, the aft-mounted propellers will be electric, powered by a renewable source such as hydrogen fuel cells. A sophisticated buoyancy-management system will serve the same purpose as trim on an airplane, allowing for precise adjustments in flight dynamics to compensate for outside conditions and passenger movement. The automated system will draw outside air into compartments throughout the ship and compress it to manage onboard weight

1. Actually if you deflate it and fold it carefully, it will fit a two car
garage.

2. Also, since it is lighter than air, the gross weight (full of gas) is
less than 1320 pounds, therefore, it can be flown by a Sport Pilot,
provided he or she has the required hours and a CFI logbook endorsement
for lighter than air...
