Dan,

Another thing I've noticed to improve flyin attendance: there's a fatigue
factor involved. When group activity and flyins are new, lots of people
come. When it's an established thing and you've been to a number of them,
even the "participators" get tired and just come once in a while. It
becomes something that's not "worth" the extra effort.

Just before I left Iowa, it seemed we might need to cut back from monthly
flyins and go to just 2-4 flyins a year.

We were doing flyins all around the state, asking people to volunteer to
invite us to come to some airport in their area. Sometimes we'd just have
lunch at a restaurant near the field, once it was a tour of an airplane
model making factory, once a historical tourist trap place, etc. The more
desirable locations got better attendance. Note that Iowa is maybe less
than half the size of California at about 200x300 miles.

Hi Ed,
Thank you very much for the kind words. It means a great deal to me to hear

those words coming from you.

I'm also open to hearing any ideas you have about how to increase interest,
attendance, or membership.

Happy new Year and Best Regards,
Dan Hall
