Hi Bill,
Here's how to get information in any situation such as this (including your own bird, which I highly recommend). Go to this URL:
http://162.58.35.241/e.gov/ND/airrecordsND.asp
Enter N2860H, Serial No. 3485 and for $6.25 you can order 92 pages of Registration documents and 60 pages of Airworthiness Documents from FAA microfilm, either paper photocopies or digital on CD. That's a pretty good deal.
If you go for it, would much appreciate a copy or printout of subject 337 for my files.
Regards,
William R. Bayne

My 415-C has a C-90 engine installed under a 337 in 1959. It referred to another 337 as its authority. /fontfamily>
The description of work accomplished reads: "Install C90-12 engine with metal MaCauley prop. Comply with note #9, parts a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i,, and j to be elgible as model 415-D. This alteration was accomplished identical to that on Ercoupe 415C, N2860H completed by Vernon K. Wadley and approved by C. G. McKissick on Jan. 4 1954 and James Gannon on June 18, 1954."/fontfamily>
(I included all mistakes as it is written in the 337.)/fontfamily>
I would welcome any info that a 'Couper finds out about N2860H's installation./fontfamily>

Ron/ William: I looked into trying to obtain one or both STC's to put a C-90 in a Coupe. I did not have any luck in getting copies of the STC's, however, I did learn that any 337 dated 1955 or older can be used as valid data, which means if you can get a copy of a 337 showing the installation of a C-90, you do not need FAA approval to do so. You just include a copy of the 337 dated in 1955 or earlier with your 337. Any mechanic with AI privilege's can sign off the installation./smaller>/fontfamily>
Any Couper's out there with C-90's installed prior to 1956 that have a 337? I would certainly like to get a copy./smaller>/fontfamily>
