Hi Don;  The original wheels were held on the shaft by two roll pins that
are 
pressed into holes drilled in the hub/shaft. The hubs are a snug fit, but 
should go on the 7/8 inch shaft without extreme difficulty. If you use the

hold drilled in the fitting on the other end of the shaft, which the 
universal joint is attached to, to obtain the correct alignment, the new 
control wheels can be installed on the shafts while they are outside the 
aircraft. The holes for the roll pins are drilled from the bottom of the
hub, 
one in the front and one in the rear. They do not quite come through the
hub 
on the top side. By using a roll pin, you can compress it ever so slightly
to 
get it started in the hole, and then push/drive it home.
       I do not remember the PN for the roll pins, but I can look it up if

you desire. I believe they are shown in the original parts manual with the

control wheels and hubs.
