Hi Don:

The hardest part of the conversion is getting the thing approved.
I no longer take a 337 approval for granted. I just had one bounced
by my local FSDO for the landing gear spacers. I forgot to include
the 16 paragraph "Instructions for Continued Airworthiness" on the
back of the 337,

That said, I would try to find an approved 337 and have your mechanic get
yours
pre-approved by citing the acceptable data on the approved 337. Perhaps
Lynn or John might have a copy of a 337.

Once you have the 337, the alternator and regulator is common to the later
Cessna 150s and can be found at aircraft salvage yards or bought outright.

I have a 60 amp alternator that was installed as part of my 0-200 upgrade.
Unfortunately there is no separate 337 covering it since it was approved
as part of the upgrade. I sure don't worry about running my battery down.

Good luck

Cheers:

Paul

I have a 415-G with a Continental C-85 engine. I am still using the old
20
amp generator and would like to upgrade to a more powerful alternator.
Any
ideas?
