----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----Steve; I do not recall any difference in the strut disassembly process between the ERCO strut and the Electrol. There are internal parts differences, but they both come apart the same way. The rubber bumper at the top is usually the culprit causing binding/sticking in the disassembly process. I recommend reviewing service bulletin 41 before proceeding.
