If I raise the nose wheel of N5466F ( '67 Alon A2A ) off the ground and
exert pressure side to side, how much movement is tolerable? I get about 1/8th
of an inch of movement. In addition to being able to feel the movement , I can
see the felt grease seal flexing with the movement.Nothing is evident when I
operate the airplane ( no shimmy, etc), but the guy who operates the tow-bar
tractor at my airport tells me there is more play in my nose wheel than there is
on the other planes at the field,
which all seem to be tight as a drum when he tows them around. Thanks to
