Note also that there is wild debate on how ignition switches should be wired. For example, on my switch, the contacts are labeled 'Left' and 'Right' If you hook the right P-lead to the one labeled Right and the left P-lead to the one labeled Left things don't work like you think they do. When the switch is turned to the position on the plate they included which says 'L', the left contact of the switch is ON, the left P-Lead is grounded, therefore you are running on the RIGHT mag! Vice-versa for the left mag. Every second A&P I've asked about this gives the opposite answer as to whether this is correct labeling and nomenclature or not :-) I've concluded either everyone is confused or it doesn't actually matter in practice, since when you're turning the switch you aren't curled up in there with the motor anyway.
