Don't do that. Yes, it's probably the cheapest cuz it's basically
drill a hole (usually in an aftermarket fiberglass item) and run
the wires.

The problem is that you'll pop bulbs like they're going out of style.
Even Cessna decided that nose-bowl mounted landing lights were
a bad idea, and put them back in the wings.

The engine vibration plays hell with the bulb life. There are some
after-market bulbs and non-aircraft bulbs that you might be able
to get approved, some that are more rugged.

But since the whole point of a landing light is for it to come on,
you might want it somewhere where it will more than once.
