Now that I am into the process of re-attaching all the hoses and wires and

other stuff to the engine after overhaul I am faced with the issue of 
what to do with a couple of gaskets.

Specifically, the fuel pump gasket and the starter motor gasket. It seems
that opinions vary about whether to use something sticky to seal the
gaskets, or whether they are designed to be used dry, with the torque
doing the
sealing.

What say you list?
