That is true but they are the only choice for LSA. You can always look for
a
light one with little equipment and fabric wings and not fill the tanks
when
you have a big guy with you. This is why we are looking for an Alon for
these other guys. My 415-C fits me for most use but the seat does not
adjust
and one of the guys has the yoke in his gut in the flare.

The problem I see with the 415c or the 415c/d is that with that gross
wieght
you need two small guys.

You will want a 415-C or C/D. they are 1260 and fit LSA. I am in the
process
of getting a few guys here interested in getting an Ercoupe or Aircoupe
and
some of them do not have a license and want to learn in it. I was turned
down for insurance from the broker I use that issues the Antique Aircraft
Assoc policy because of the lack of Ercoupe time. I called Avemco because
they are the only direct writer and they are OK with it. They are more
expense but they were OK with the student pilots and the open pilot cause
is
really generous and by the time the guys split the premium it will be
pretty
good for each of them. They did ask me if the pilots would have valid
medicals and I did not ask them there policy on LSA because the one we are
looking at is an Alon with 1450 gross. The guy I talked to was Steve Kroh

I am still looking for a coupe !!! But I just discovered on the Ercoupe
site that the 415-C has a max gross weight of 1260. My goal is to find a
coupe that will fit in the Sport Pilot category AND that I can do Flight
Instruction in....Is there such an animal ???I don't have a medical right
now, so the 415-D(1400 gross) is not an option. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
