Thanks for that info, it'll get me far.  Good tip regarding universals,
they're pretty darned expensive and mine are sloppy!  Funny that there
doesn't seem to be any way to properly lube them.  In one of my old car
catalogues (Chevy's of the 30's) they have universals listed for one
application or another.  Now don't get me wrong, I fully discourage and
would never use car parts in an aeroplane, but since ERCO seemed to have
done a lot of buying from GM, I often wondered if some of those universals
listed for the older Chevy's were also used on our coupes.  Sure would be
an
interesting fact to know.  Anyway, when I do pull these shafts, I'll
measure
the universals and see if anything is close.  Ercoupolet!
