If the universal joints are mechanically good but the rubber boots are deteriorated, new Lovejoy Universal joint boots are available from MSC industrial supply company. The boots sell for about $18.00 each. Easy to install but don't forget to grease the joint before putting the new boots on. Original boots were put on with a metal band clamp, the replacements come with tie wraps. MSC part number is 35408301 for a universal with an O.D. of 5/8" and 35408319 for a universal with a O.D. of 3/4", I forgot which one we use. MSC web site is www. mscdirect.com. They will sell to anyone with money and are very, very quick to fill orders and ship. But you need to set up a account with them. Takes about 5 minutes on line.
