Hi Tommy,
Page 118 of the Continental C85 overhaul manual lists 200 to 220 inch pounds. I could not find a different figure for use with a metal prop, and the wood prop was standard when this was written. Per Teledyne Continental Aircraft Engine Service Bulletin SB76-7B, "TORQUE VALUES LISTED (presumably all such values originated by Continental, although propeller torque is not listed in this Service Bulletin) ARE FOR USE WITH CLEAN 50 WEIGHT AVIATION ENGINE OIL APPLIED TO THE THREADS, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED".
McCauley (per current Univair catalog), and Aircoupe Service Manual, Model F-1 and F-1A, p. 31 lists 300-360 inch pounds with threads DRY for installation of their props.
Your prop should be a 1A90/CF (elliptical tip) or 1B90/CM (square tip). The 71" diameter is for the C-85.
Regards,
WRB
