Guys - I am a relatively new Ercoupe pilot and in the past five months I have had an exhaust valve on the C85-12 stick four times - twice this week on the same trip. Although I managed to clear the stuck valve each time I obviously need to do something to clear up this problem. I suspect that part of the problem this week was the cold snap we experienced here in eastern Kansas. The last time was in August when it was warm. Also suspect, without any really good reason, that using carb heat is part of the problem. I largely ignored the carb heat in the summer and this fall. Any other usual suspects?
Short of pulling the cylinder and having the valve hole reamed and the valve itself cleaned or replaced, what is recommended? I have been using Marvel Mystery oil in the gas and some in the oil since I have owned N93820, a 1946 415-C.
