You should all calibrate your header tank
indicator. I had mine showing fuel from 6 to 1 gallon. I used
numbered wire indicators, a type of marking wrap we use to tag wires.
Completely empty the header tank and put in one
gallon of fuel. Cap it up and see where the float is, then wrap the #1
wire identifier around that point on the glass. Put another gallon in then
wrap the #2 marker on the float glass and continue on in one gallon
increments until full.
Going back to the parts issue, how many of you know
that the steering boot is from a '37 or '39 Chevrolet and used on the starter
button? The original master cylinders were from an International
Harvester machine? The list goes on so during your research find where
these parts are from, then make the procurement decision.

Hello all, After reading about the recent discussion on
fuel system and nail biting experience in Tenn..,, I thought that I would
throw in this tidbit,, On my long cross-country trip from Florida to
Texas,, I wanted to check fuel burn and useable fuel, etc.. I did know that
float in header tank,,on my coupe only shows top 2 gallons in header. About
30 miles from home,, Mains ran out of fuel,, I thought with only 30 miles to
go,, that I would continue on header,, . I watched float drop,, seemed toooo,,
rapidly and decided to get fuel,, I was a little nervous and wondered if
something was wrong,, I was happy to find out that everything was
o.k. .. Now I am trying to learn as much as possible about
my coupe,, Anyway,, thanks guys,, for this list and all contributors,,
