Of course! Just as the same kind of sudden full-throttle application on a go-around can sometimes stumble the engine because the Stromberg has no accelerator pump, can't provide enough fuel to match a wide-open throttle, and all of a sudden the engine is seeing a lean condition. Never would have made that connection.. Thank you.

Opening the throttle from an idle position quickly makes for a very lean and cold air mixture into the cyls....cooling down the potential hot carbon, so it does not ignite the fuel mixture..and cause "run on".
