I shut down my engine with a Stromberg by cutting the fuel off and
letting it run dry. Otherwise you will get a bit of fuel leaking out.

Question;
I have a stromberg on my 75hp ercoupe and when I shut down the
engine as the continental engine manual says (Turn off mags and
open throttle rapidly)
I get a few drops of fuel leaking from the carb air box, not a lot
mabey 5 or 6 drops which wets the bottom cowl inside. My mechanic
says this is just fuel that the engine sucked into the induction
system upon shut down which did not make it to the cylinders, and
it collected in the intake spider and runs back down out of the
carb into the airbox and drips out. Engine runs great and don't
seem to have a fuel problem. Mabey he is correct? Dose the group
have any
ideas
